MEDIUM ROASTS: Most of these coffees are single-origin — in other words, they come from one region in one country are aren’t blended with any other beans. By roasting them moderately, the distinct flavors and nuances of their native soils are left enjoyably intact.
CENTRAL & SOUTH AMERICAN
Colombian – Its popularity comes from its impressive advertising and all-around pleasing taste. Clean and mild.
Costa Rica – A bit heavier and more pungent than Colombian with a sweet taste.
Guatemala – An unusual pleasant combo of tangy acidity and an elusive chocolate nuance. Offers a full taste with a surprising sharpness. (Also available as a dark roast.)
Mexico – This bean has a natural earthy taste and a dry yet snappy flavor — one of our most popular medium roasts.
Nicaragua – A light bodied coffee with a natural nuttiness.
Peru – A mild, mellow and slightly sweet coffee that is wonderful throughout the day.
AFRICAN
Ethiopian Harrar – This exotic coffee from coffee’s birthplace has a slight fruity flavor, and a cleaner, drier finish than most others.
Ethiopian Yirgacheffe – Slightly buttery and surprisingly bright, despite being so rich, fruity and full-bodied. A Spencer’s favorite.
Ethiopian Sidamo – A bit tangier than Harrar or Yirgacheffe, with a distinct but understated aftertaste.
INDONESIANS
Sumatra – This classic coffee is heavy and tangy with a smooth, earthy taste.
Timor – A bit lighter than the Sumatra, this full-bodied, all-day drinking coffee features bold flavors with a smooth aftertaste.
BLENDS
Breakfast Blend — Also known as “Hair of the Dog,” this combo of rich, full-bodied coffees roasted medium is the perfect blend to wake up to.
Café del Sol – A blend of light- and dark-roasted Central and Indonesian beans makes up this delicious medium roast.
Euphoria – A medium-roasted blend of Central and South American beans with a mild and sweet taste.
Unplugged House Decaf: A pleasing blend of tangy Guatemala and rich Sumatra, decaffeinated using the 100% natural Swiss Water Process.
DARK ROASTS: Most of these are blends designed by our friends at the roastery. Some are tradiational, others unconventional — all are delicious.
Kaldi’s Dog – A dark-roasted blend of African coffees, named after the canine that’s credited with discovering coffee itself.
Dark Horse – Ethiopian Harrar combined with tangy Guatemala, and roasted quite a bit darker than its individual parts.
Charbucks – We roast this one as dark as the local fire department allows us. It might remind you of a certain chain of cafes… the difference is that while all their coffees taste like this, it’s just one stop on the coffee journey at Spencer’s.
French Roast – A blend of Central American beans roasted dark to add smokiness to the otherwise light-tasting mix. Great for French presses or moka pots. (Also available in decaf.)
Harvest Moon Blend – A blend of Central and Indonesian beans creates this smooth and light all-day drinker.
Immaculate Perculation – Full body, dark roast and rich taste. But please, don’t make it in a percolator (in fact, if you HAVE a percolator, please dispose of it immediately).
Made in the Shade – A dark-roasted central American blend with a lighter taste than most other darks.
Metro Blend – Combination of Central and South American beans. This blend offers a smoky-tasting brew that is surprisingly bright.
Moka Java – Our take on the classic blend features beans from Indonesian and Africa.
Mudd – Tastes like it sounds, only better. Full-bodied, syrupy Sumatra mixed with our smoky French Roast.
Mystic Brew – An award-winning Indonesian blend with tons of body and a smooth aftertaste.
ESPRESSO: As the basis of our lattes, cappuccinos, mochas and many other drinks, the blend called “espresso” is named for the process by which it’s brewed — a quick and potent infusion that results in a flavor-packed shot of coffee. Our blend of beans from around the world was chosen to produce a sweet, smooth shot and is roasted lighter than what you’ll get at most other cafes — this allows more flavor to make it into the cup. (For a darker roast espresso, try our Immaculate Percolation.) (Also available in decaf.)

The Chicken Salad Sandwich – The best chicken salad ever? That’s what repeat customers tell us… but you be the judge. Made daily from all-white meat, this is our biggest seller.
Tuna Melt – Made with solid white albacore tuna, this sandwich has too much flavor to wrap up… that’s why it’s served open-faced, with your choice of bread and cheese.
Californian – As fresh as a walk on the beach, this sandwich finds turkey and swiss cheese joining fresh lettuce, sprouts and avocado – with just a hint of dijon mustard.
Reuben – Our take on this classic features corned beef, sauerkraut and swiss cheese, topped off with a secret sauce and grilled to perfection on rye bread.
